Perna Studios is very excited to announce our very first trading card set entitled Classic Mythology (for release in April of 2012). This set will focus on 6 timeless Classic Mythologies that we have all come to love and enjoy during our lifetime. The mythologies spotlighted in this set are Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Celtic, Japanese and Hindu. We have an impressive list of artists involved on this set working on both base/promo cards and sketch cards.

PLEASE, NEGATIVE CRITIQUES ARE NOT WELCOME. THESE ARE ARTISTS INTERPRETATIONS. DESCRIPTIONS ARE BASED ON VARIOUS STORIES THAT ALL DIFFER FROM VARIOUS SOURCES. THANK YOU.

This awesome art of the Japanese God Izanagi is created by the very talented artist Matt Glebe. :icontwynsunz: This beautiful art will be a base card in our Classic Mythology card set.

Izanagi - Japanese Mythology - was a deity born of the seven divine generations in Japanese mythology and Shinto, and is also referred to in the roughly translated Kojiki as "male-who-invites" or Izanagi-no-mikoto. It is also pronounced Izanaki-no-Okami. He with his spouse and younger sister, Izanami, bore many islands, deities and forefathers of Japan. When Izanami was burned and died during childbirth, Izanagi tried (but failed) to retrieve her from Yomi (the underworld). When Izanagi was in Yomi he looks prematurely at his wife, he beholds her monstrous and hellish state and she is shamed and enraged. She pursues him in order to kill him. She fails to do so, but promises to kill a thousand of his people every day. Izanagi retorts that a thousand and five hundred will be born every day. In the cleansing rite after his return, he begot Amaterasu (the sun goddess) from his left eye, Tsukuyomi (the moon god) from his right eye and Susanoo (tempest or storm god) from his nose.

Mm... He's intimidating, it really doesn't fit him.
