PLEASE, NEGATIVE CRITIQUES ARE NOT WELCOME. THESE ARE ARTISTS INTREPRETATIONS. DESCRIPTIONS ARE BASED ON VARIOUS STORIES THAT ALL DIFFER FROM VARIOUS SOURCES. THANK YOU.

This awesome sketch art card of Ares & Aphrodite from Greek Mythology is drawn by the very talented artist Amber Shelton :icondixey: for our Classic Mythology trading card set.

Ares - Greek Mythology - Ares was the God of war, battle lust, civil order and manly courage. Ares was the son of Zeus and Hera. In Greek art he was depicted as either a mature, bearded warrior dressed in battle arms, or a nude beardless youth with helm and spear. He was a lover to Aphrodite and produced six children with her (Eros, Anteros, Phobos, Deimos, Harmonia, and Adrestia). Some of Ares symbols include the spear, helmet, dog, chariot, and boar.

Aphrodite - Greek Mythology - Aphrodite was the Goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation in Greek Mythology. Some traditions stated that she had sprung from the foam (aphros) of the sea, which had gathered around the mutilated parts of Uranus, that had been thrown into the sea by Kronos after he had unmanned his father. She was the wife of Hephaestus. Aphrodite had many consorts/lovers that included (Hephaestus, Ares, Poseidon, Hermes, Dionysus, Adonis, and Anchises). Aphrodite had several children (Eros, Phobos, Deimos, Harmonia, Pothos, Anteros, Himeros, Hermaphroditos, Rhode, Eryx, Peitho, Tyche, Eunomia, The Graces, Priapus and Aeneas). Some of Aphrodite's symbols include the dove, rose, scallop shell, myrtle, dolphin, sparrow, girdle, mirror, and the swan.

You really can't ship people in Greek mythology, but I will be honest to say that these two are one of my favorite couples. Something about them just clicks well together, even if both are in the company of others.
